Tired Boy

Jackson has NOT been sleeping well this past week. This was from this morning and you can see how tired he is. But doesn't he look cute in his pajamas?

1/28 & 1/29

Jackson loves taking my flowers out of the pot and playing with them. Sometimes it's quite the feat figuring out where he has hidden them.

Like Daddy Like Jackson

No sooner than Jason had gotten into the kitchen to get something to eat, Jackson had already put his bowl and drink on the tray and taken over. Daddy had to get a new tray cause Jackson said, "No, this Jackie's". By the way, no idea why he calls himself Jackie and not Jackson. We call him that sometimes, but not that often I didn't think.

Jason was watching this video of a guy setting off a firework and Jackson thought it was hilarious. He kept saying, "Again" over and over. This video is after at least ten times watching it and he was still laughing.

Potty

Will Jackson sit on the potty? YES! He's even gone to the bathroom several times. Will he tell you when he needs to go or say yes when you ask? NO!

Puzzles and Wow Wow

Gammy, Jackson loves these puzzles! It took him about three seconds to figure them out and now he works them over and over. He actually just found them again because the other day I hid them under the bed. People always tease and tell us they tried to find the noisiest or most annoying toy. None of that bothers me at all. It's the things that have a hundred pieces!! LOL Aaahhh...blocks and puzzle pieces everywhere! Oh well, that's part of being Mom right? He loves them and learns from them and that's all that matters.


Jackson's new addiction is the cartoon "Wow Wow Wubzy" (the second most annoying cartoon ever, second to "Yo Gabba Gabba"). He has even woken up a couple nights this past week at midnight asking for "Wow Wow", which he didn't get! But anyways, he has had a pretty nasty cold the past couple days and when we went to Walmart earlier he spotted Wow Wow, so we of course got it for him. Good Lord this kid is spoiled. What's he gonna do if he gets a brother or sister??

I wish I had of had my camera in Walmart because Jason took him to see the fish and he kept saying, "Hi bite (that's what he calls a fish), Hi bite, I Jackie" Oh, and that silence at the end of the video when he wouldn't answer me is because he is going potty. LOL

Bye Bye

Jackson decided that he needs his "truck" in the basement. I gave up trying to figure out his motives. So yesterday when I was down doing laundry, he was riding on it. I told him it was time to go back upstairs and he told me, "You go Momma, Bye Bye" while waving me away. He apparently had big plans.

Speaking of his big plans, when it was time for nap I told him he could pick a toy to take. What did he pick? A fork and two spoons he had confiscated when were unloading the dishwasher. Ummm, no son, you aren't taking silverware to bed. I suppose he was going to dig a tunnel out of his crib?

He Shoots, He Scores

This picture doesn't really show all that occcured prior to him shooting. I was sitting on the floor on the phone and watching him. First he searched around the room for the balls. Then, he threw them up into his bed. Next, he pushed the basketball goal closer to his bed. So, I've seen all that, no biggie. But then he climbed INTO his bed! He's done this by climbing up on stuff, but this time he just scaled the side of the bed like Spiderman and flipped into it. He wasn't shocked or anything so I assume he's done this before. Wonder what else he does when the door's closed and I think he's sleeping?

Dino Again

Jackson's getting really brave with the dinosaur. Now he feeds it puzzle pieces or whatever else he can find and says, "EAT! EAT!"

Book Time

Doing one of his favorite things. He didn't even know I was in the room when I took this picture because he was so enthralled in the book.

I'm cheating. Today and yesterday's pics are not from today and yesterday. Sorry..haven't taken any good pics the last two days.

Growing up

Look at the big boy taking his own medicine! Jackson's gotten really good at drinking his medicine from a cup. He even says, "That good. More?"

A video for Grandma

He's warming up to the dinosaur Grandma! He even asked the carpet cleaner guy to come play with it with him.

View Finder

Aunt Shelley and her mom, Bernice, visited today! We got so busy playing and talking that I forgot to take a picture while they were here. I took this one after they left. This view finder was a Christmas gift from Aunt Shelley and he is finally figuring out how to use it. You can see from the pic that he still won't put it right up to his eyes, but he can see what's in there. This particular one has Mickey Mouse and he got very excited when he could see it. "M. Mouse!!"

Visiting

Last night we went to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Jackson fell in love with this fake bird in a cage that tweeted when you clapped or made a loud noise. Glad he had fun with it, glad we don't have one at home! LOL He had a great time visiting and I couldn't pick one picture so I have three.

Berries

Today we were finally able to get outside without bundling up like an Eskimo! Jackson must have though the raccoon and squirrel (concrete figures) were hungry because he picked "berries" off of the burning bush and "fed" them to the animals.

Bubbles

"Jackson, do you want out of the tub?"

"Nope."

Bath time is always a toss-up with Jackson. Sometimes he runs and hides on the couch, sometimes he about pulls off his limbs trying to get his clothes off so fast. Tonight was a combo. He ran and hid, then decided he wanted in. His favorite things to do in the bath are to paint (which is really just bubble bath in a cup LOL), drink the water (yuck), and play with his toys. He also loves to throw water OUT of the tub (grrr). He's big enough now that we wait on the bed where we can still see him while he plays. Every few minutes we say, "Jackson, are you ok?" and he'll say, "I all white." =)

Long day

Jackson must have had a long day at the office, er, preschool. When I picked him up he had an obvious plan. He named three different cartoons, came home, crawled up on the couch to watch said cartoons, requested milk, and didn't move for about 30 minutes. Playing is hard work!

Itchy!

Something about this time of year..just so itchy!! All three of us are itchy, Jackson most of all. We douse him in lotion, but he still wakes up with scratch marks on him, poor baby. Got the humidifier going now, hopefully our skin will appreciate it!

Bonus Pic!

One thing Jackson hates is getting his fingernails clipped! I don't know if it's the actual clipping or the having to sit still for 30 seconds. After Jason wrangled him long enough to take care of it today Jackson said, "I try?" and preceded to give Elmo a manicure. Don't worry, we took away the clippers right after snapping the pic!



And a bonus picture just because he's so dang cute! This is what Jackson does a lot when Momma is cooking dinner...sits at the counter with a book and reads. He loves for us to read to him, then to take the book and "read" to us. This book in particular was a gift from his Great Grandma and he loves it!

We say, "A is for.." and point to the picture and he says, "ANT!"

Choo Choo

Jackson loves to play with his "choo choo". A couple months back, we were at a Barnes and Noble and Jackson took off when we were looking at the children's books. I followed him to the train table they had set up. We didn't get to look at many books that day! Jason and I decided then that a Thomas the Tank Engine set would be his Christmas present. Jason spent a few days building the table, I helped paint and with the help of family and friends we were able to put together a pretty respectable track! Momma and Dadda spent Christmas Eve night putting together the track and playing. We weren't sure what to expect Christmas morning, we knew Jackson wasn't really old enough for the bouncing up and down screaming thing. Well, the next morning he walked into the living room and stopped in his tracks (pun intended) and just looked the table. Then he slowly sauntered around it saying to himself, "My, My, Oh My..." He's been playing with his "choo choo" ever since!

Snow Fun Part 2!

Another day in the snow! Today Jason made a makeshift sled and pulled Jackson around the yard on it for his very first sleighride. I tried my hardest to get a great laughing picture, but it wasn't happening. He did love it though (until he fell off face first). The picture was right after falling off, so he isn't very happy at this moment, but he got over it quickly.

Snow Fun!

Today was Jackson's first time playing in the snow! It took him about, oh, six seconds to fall in love with it. He did NOT want to come inside. I guess I know what we'll be doing tomorrow. And yes, I cheated, I couldn't pick just once picture today.

Track Star

This is the aforementioned "Rupert".

No bed time is complete with out blankey and Rupert. Not sure what it is about this tiny little bear, but Jackson loves him and won't get into or out of bed without him.

My Budding Van Gogh

This kid loves to paint! He asks every day to paint. Granted it usually only lasts for about five minutes, but so does everything else with kids right? His new thing is putting the paintbrush in his mouth and painting. And of course we also use it as a lesson in colors. He knows white, yellow, red, black and blue by name. Everything else he doesn't know is blue too. =)

Oh, Jackson also loves candy canes (note his right hand). I guess we need to stock up on them while they are like 18 cents right now.

Peppppppp!!

LOL! This was the super sad face I got when I didn't give into his Pepsi pleas and pleases. It didn't work. I'm a mean mommy, for not giving him "Pep" and for taking the picture!!! Oh well, gotta get my kicks somewhere.

Stickers!

Ok, not the best picture, but it was the memory that's funny. He was being awfully quiet and so when I snuck into the bedroom, this is what I found. He had climbed into the laundry basket (on top of clean laundry) and was putting sports stickers on the basket...and the clothes!

New Year's Night

The first day of the new year and Jackson decided that it was a good time to start sleeping in our bed. He went and got his blanket and "Rupert" and got up in our bed. He tucked Rupert in on one side with a sippy of milk and he tucked himself in on the other side. He wasn't too happy when it was time to go to his own bed.
